Lets start with the steel used. The steel wire used needs to be consistent with the end goals in mind. It must be hard enough to support an ultra sharp point and thin to allow penetration, ductile enough to not snap and strong enough to not bend. The high quality high carbon Japanese steel wire used is everything it needs to be and more. It's strength and hardness is impressive and a requirement to fish eggs as small as 4mm and not kill the presentation of the egg whilst still being able to land a 25+lb trout. For this you need a small square sharp hook. The Iseama-R is light in weight due to it's thinner than most wire gauge, Yet strong due to the high quality Japanese steel and design, easily strong enough to tie a second egg off. The same steel allows for the extra sharp yet durable 2 stage point design. This point style results in a sharpness akin to a needle point yet far more durable. Important when fishing across stony bottoms.  The hook shape is almost square except that the point runs parallel with the shank not recurved towards it. This gives a rigged egg a wide enough gape to get a decent hookset in a large trout's jaw. Basically it means more consistently solid hooksets in the jaw on the strike and that results in less dropped fish.
